migrain aura

Signs of a migraine attack are early symptoms for instance slurred or muddled speech, wavy lines and dizziness.

Once the initial symptoms clear, other symptoms follow such as pain on one side (may swap sides), lack of co-ordination, thumping or throbbing headache,pins and needles or dehydration, thirst. Some of the symptoms may be absent.

A whole host of triggers can induce a migraine in people sensitive to migraines such as...

• Hormonal changes
• Shock
• Strong smells
• Change of climate
• Alcohol, especially red wine
• Travel
• Smoky or stuffy atmospheres

  If you're susceptible to migraines consider keeping a diary of what could have caused the migraine. By working out what the trigger is you can try to avoid it
